PUMA REDWORLD
A set of interactive experiences and games for PUMA's flagship retail stores. I worked on the design, prototyping, construction, and documentation of this project and personally installed these in Puma's Beijing and Paris stores. I also created all the sound and music. JOYPAD is a 32 x iPad Wall loaded with skill, memory and sound games. PEEPSHOW are cabinets installed in every dressing room. A different video message would play every time it was opened.

Hacked phones were scattered in each store. They would ring and light up at random times or when someone came close to the phone. A different audio message would play every time the phone was answered. I designed a custom pcb that would allow triggering the phones internal bell, employing a proximity sensor and playing audio files.

NEEDLES
I designed and built this 1U Eurorack MIDI controller and Mutable Instruments Yarns expander. Allows for quick and flexible live recording and editing of musical and percussive sequences. Offered as an open source DIY project.

PRINCES OF PERSUASION
My robotic puppet band. I design and build these puppets which I still perform with. Each one has 11-13 servo motors. I built a custom controller used to sequence their movements.

ZOETROPE WORKSHOPS
2D and 3D Zoetrope workshops I ran for teens at CUE Arts Foundation and NYU. Using a turntable and strobe light.

SET IN STONE
A pair of interactive, touch-sensitive, concrete interfaces. Touching one surface lights up a message on the other. 441 addressable fiber optic strands were embedded in each concrete square. Made of LEDs, fiber optics, concrete and microcontrollers. Published in Make Magazine.

SYNTHINETIC
A kinetically powered noise box using gearhoad motors, capacitors and electronic componenets. Turning the motors generates power stored temporairly in a large capacitor. The circuit starts to produce noise. Switches and knobs change the sound and one button drains the capacitor. Published in the book Handmade Electronic Music.

ANTWALK
A live performance using friendly ants and a video camera. In software I divided the video feed into 100 squares each loaded with a different sound. The ants roamed around triggering the sounds and making a racket:

SHMOBBLOMETER
A wireless indoor wall sculpture that displays current weather conditions anywhere in the world. On the left side there are temperatures. On the right side there are the sky conditions (from top to bottom: Tornado, Sunny, Rainy, Partly Cloudy, Lightning, Windy, Cloudy and Snow). A web app lets the user choose a city or zipcode and the Shmobblometer pulls the data, moving it's two arms to the current tempertaure and sky condition. At the time this picture was taken it was 52°F and Windy in New York City. Wood, clay, servo motors and electronics.
